This award recognises a team working in global underwriting and enabling the organisation to conduct its business globally within the international laws and regulations. This is a generalist or specialist team that demonstrates exemplary professional standards and excellence in the delivery of outstanding underwriting services.

Judges will be looking for how the team has supported the business in the last 12-18 months ahead of the entry deadline, with evidence to support how they have handled complexities in the regulatory landscape, integrated new and emerging risks, implemented innovative strategies to mitigate risk, utilised and adopted technology to improve the underwriting process and shown dedication to their profession and standards within it.

The winner of this award will be delivering exemplary professional standards and working in a flexible, adaptable and efficient way to provide exceptional underwriting expertise.

Eligibility

  • This award is open to all underwriting teams working in global insurance operations.
  • Entries must demonstrate evidence from the last 12-18 months, up to the awards, deadline.
  • We welcome entries from teams operating in the UK and Europe.

Ambition

  • Any relevant contextual information to help understand the business or external environment within which the team has been operating.
  • Information about the team: its size, structure, complexities and scope of responsibilities.
  • An understanding of any specific challenges the team and business has been facing in the last 12-18 months.
  • Please describe the ambition and goal for the team over the last year and any drivers for improvement or change.

Excellence

  • Examples of outstanding skill, best practice, activity, and process.
  • How the team have been an exemplary case study for other global insurance professionals, other teams in the global insurance sector, and for the wider multinational community.
  • Excellence in their work, approach and delivery on responsibilities
  • How did the team support the business needs over the last year, how has it been flexible to adapt and to deliver excellence? 

Innovation

  • Examples of how the team has shown creativity and agility to meet challenges and exceed goals.
  • Relevant detail about how they have used fresh and successful new models and strategies to operate successfully in challenging markets and in response to changing environments.
  • Details on how they have responded with innovation to major events
  • Illustrate any innovation using the latest technology, processes, and communication channels.

Impact

  • Relevant detail to support your entry that illustrate the benefits to the team, your company and the wider insurance sector.
  • How has the team impacted on the business and other stakeholders?
